Melissa Kees
Vice President at Corning Place Communications
Melissa is deeply involved in the Capital Region's professional and nonprofit communities.
She currently serves as President-Elect of the American Marketing Association's Capital Region Chapter and is a board member for both the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Capital Region and In Our Own Voices, an organization supporting LGBTQ+ communities of color.
Bio
Melissa Kees is Vice President at Corning Place Communications (CPC), a strategic communications agency specializing in community relations, public relations, videography and photography, social media management, website development, and advocacy campaigns. In her role, Melissa leads public and media relations efforts and provides strategic communications services to a diverse portfolio of clients across industries.
Prior to joining CPC, Melissa served as Vice President of Accounts and Media Strategy at Relentless Awareness. She also spent over a decade at WAMC Northeast Public Radio, one of the nation's top NPR affiliates, where she directed sales and marketing initiatives. Her career also includes roles with the New York State Association of Counties (NYSAC), Eric Mower + Associates, and WNYT NewsChannel 13.
Outside of work, Melissa was an Albany County foster parent for 14 years. She's also a former volunteer with Kitten Angels and the Capital District Humane Association. Melissa enjoys spending her free time with her wife, children, and their much-loved pets, usually somewhere between the sidelines of a sports game or curled up on the couch watching one.
