Across the country, thousands of young people are waiting for a mentor—someone who will show up, listen, and stand by them. But for many, especially Black and Brown boys, that wait isn’t just long—it’s heartbreaking.
These boys often face the steepest challenges: growing up in under-resourced communities, navigating systemic inequities, and doing it all without the support of a consistent, caring adult. While the average wait time for a mentor is 652 days, many wait even longer—some never get matched at all.
The need is real. The gap is urgent. And the opportunity to make a difference is right in front of us.
